History of the property known as La Giraudière
It was in 1996 when one of the present owners stumbled upon this property and immediately fell in love with it. A price was agreed and the new owners took on the property in 1997, yes nearly 30 years ago.
Until then it seemed as though the property had been left abandoned as according to the key holder and guardian, who lived nearby, the family had moved to Paris due to work and family needs some 20 years prior and only visited the property during a week or two in the summer.
The previous owners were French and were known within the village. Mr Paul Giraud was a doctor in Brossac, Paul Giraud now rests in Brossac cementary if fact he is the first place on the left when you enter the main gate.
The property is called La Giraudiere so the family Giraud have left something to mark their passing on this planet which should be here for a long time to come as this house is called La Giraudiere and recently the lane as been named as route de la giraudiere yes a place where the family Giraud lived.
History of the property goes back to prior 1800

In 2007 the property became a place of culture exchange and learning. Guests arrived from all points of the globe as either a volunteer or as an intern. The difference being an intern would arrive to learn and maybe help. Whereas volunteers arrived to principally help and would also acquire some new skills.
Property changes from doctors house to international culture house
An association was formed with the goal of the association was to atract either volunteers, or interns, from around the globe. They came and participated in the projects that were created. These projects could be events like a traditional gaelic music evening, evening darts and cards or a taste of China.
So that candidates and guest could meet up with local French speakers the association would hold events. The association dealt with the reservations and allocation of accommodation, logistics etc.
